Inclusive Digital Design
If Good Design is Good Business, then Inclusive Design is Great Business!
Inclusive Digital Design aims to ensure that websites, digital assets, social media and other digitally created experiences are genuinely accessible and usable by as many people as possible.
It takes into account things such as ability, age and status in life, considers that users are diverse, and acknowledges that people have a wide range of abilities including:
- Sight
- Hearing
- Mobility
- Cognitive Function
It also considers:
- Neurodiversity and
- Sociocultural Differences
Inclusive Digital Design takes as many of these differences into account as possible and where necessary makes information available in different formats.
Inclusive Design creates diverse ways to share information with as many people as possible.
Inclusive Digital Design for Business
Earlier this year I went back to school to learn more about digital accessibility and how to design to include as many people as possible, no matter their age, ability, or status in life. It was an incredible course, I worked so hard, and I learned so much!
I’ve now achieved my “Inclusive Digital Design for Business” badge from the University of the Sunshine Coast. This badge certifies my achievement in inclusive digital design and acknowledges that I’ve demonstrated an understanding of inclusive design and accessibility principles. I’m familiar with Australian legal requirements and international WCAG 2.2 benchmarks. Plus, I can evaluate and enhance the inclusivity and accessibility of digital assets, including Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs, multimedia, social media content, and digital interfaces, ensuring all formats are accessible.
By using Inclusive Design principles, you can reach a wider audience and increase your customer base.
Good Design is Good Business, but Inclusive Design is Great Business!
